Home town belongs to everyone

The services offered by the municipalities touch everyone. The local elections are about day care, basic education, healthcare, senior citizens services, land use, traffic, cultural services and many other things affecting our everyday life. When you are choosing a candidate for the council, you are choosing the most important decision-maker for your everyday life.

Our starting point is the Christian view of man. It means caring for others, taking care of those who are weaker and respecting everyone's value as a human. This kind of a community is safe for all of us.

Human value is always more important than market value. That is why in political decision-making, we prioritise the services that are central for life and survival, for example health services. It is our view in Christian Democracy that wellbeing comes from the person's natural surrounding community, such as families, which are supported by the basic services offered by the municipalities. We want to defend those who are not capable of defending themselves. That is why high-quality services for the elderly, handicapped and those in need of child protection are close to our heart.

Our ideology consists of the principle of socially, ethically and ecologically guided market economy, which recognizes man's right to ownership and entrepreneurship as the basics of economy. The majority of municipal income is based on income from taxes, whose quantity is tied to employment and the success of companies in the municipality. As Christian Democrats, we want to encourage working and entrepreneurship. Good quality of life requires basic security. The home town of the Christian Democrats gives everyone a chance to live safely and fully in different stages of life.
