The leader of Christian Democrats, Ms Päivi Räsänen, MP, says that “we have a jubilee, but we do not stay in the past, we are looking for the future. Our mission is now at least as important as it used to be 50 years ago. "
- My dream is that we able to work for a society where the human value of every person is respected, the weakest are taken care of and the neighbourliness is flourishing. I hope that because of this jubilee we can stand up as a strong party in local communities. One of the basic principles of Christian Democracy is subsidiarity, the decisions should be made as close to the people as possible. In cities there are needed Christian Democratic decision makers who respect family and human values”, Ms Räsänen reminded.
